Journey into Joy
Thirty-Three Steps to Inner Healing Including Unconscious Addiction
written by Regina Wieman Voegele, Ph.D.
Becoming a more peaceful, loving and joy-filled person is the aim of this step-by-step guide to self-healing. Touching upon her own struggle, Dr. Voegele focuses on how to recognize and overcome self-defeating addictions, especially the unconscious addictions of adrenaline and pain.
Using Inner Wisdom to Create Healing and a Life of Joy
Readers are encouraged to set aside daily quiet time to listen to their inner guide, referred to as Wisdom or God. Questions provided at the end of each chapter allow opportunities for self-reflection or group discussion throughout your Journey into Joy.
As both a retired teacher and a therapist Dr. Voegele realized that much of the inner healing work required to live a full, whole and happy life is done by oneself with Wisdom within. God, referred to as “Wisdom” in the book, is dwelling within each person and can be accessed at any time. The individual needs to be willing to “show up” daily for inner listening and allow Wisdom to do the healing. This happens gradually as the person becomes more peaceful, happy and free.
Quiet Reflection Inspires Personal Growth and Deep Change
Dr. Voegele explains that inner healing requires a commitment to sitting quiet for at least 20 minutes once a day. Everyday it is important to allow your Wisdom within to bring up whatever needs healing. You can start simply with just 5 minutes a day in the beginning. Dr. Voegele believes most people can achieve inner peace and joy by following the steps laid out in her new book. In a few instances the person’s Wisdom within can lead them to seek therapy, but in most cases inner healing occurred because a person was showing up faithfully every day and being open.
